BNP Paribas (a french bank) is now selling SmartPhones. Not to shocked by this since so many of our financial interactions are now readily available via SmartPhone. The phones come preloaded with NFC and all the banks applications. 

Moosejaw a clothing company has an X-Ray app. Using an Ipad 2 you can scan their catalauge and see the underwear the models are wearing that they also sell. They saw 37% up tick in sales year over year for the month they released the app. 

I've been using Google music for a few weeks now and I am really happy with it. So those thoughts of getting iPhone becuase of iTunes and my music are OVER!

So not exactly mobile related BUT. Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic are asking folks if they would like to have a paper receipt or email version. I love it! Save paper and maybe get some return business from an offer in the email. Email was what got me in to digital so I have a soft spot for it.

I just downloaded the new Twitter app on my Android phone. Still getting adjusted to the new interface but so far so good. Will be back later with more. Update - I like the look and feel of the new app and some of the funtionality. I'm not to exicited about the size of the tweets in the new layout. Just need to get accustomed to it. 

So my wife broke her foot on our vacation and will be in a boot for 6 weeks. Needless to stay the vacation was not as good as we planned. It was nice to family and friends but the emergency room was lost on me.

Sports - My Marlins have a pulse sort a kinda! Football on both sides of the world can't start back up fast enough for me.

Business - Nothing to major going on from my standpoint. 

Dull days of summer are upon us!

I drove 12 hours yesterday to my hometown Miami, FL. We left Charlotte at 4:45 AM and hit Little Havana at 4PM. Going to enjoy some Cuban food and all the craziness Miami has to offer for the next few days.

Business - I am kinda excited about Google+. They are doing some cool stuff to make social more natural.

Sports - It is the dead season since my Marlis are floundering, one month before College Football camps open (Go Canes) and the soccer world is thinking about $$ and not playing games. One exciting thing is the large number of young Americans playing abroad with the chance to make moves in to the first teams next year. mlssoccer and yanks-abroad have some good articles.

I am not going to eat Mexican food for a long time. After USMNT 4-2 loss to the Mexico I am done (for now)! The game was great for the first 30 minutes when we had a 2-0 lead but after that it was no fun at all. Both teams had injuries and issues but I think the US could have done better. Well next time!

Sports - So we get USA vs. Mexico in the Rose Bowl saturday night. Freddy Adu played last night and played well. Long time coming!

Mobile Payments - ISIS (ATT, Verizon, T Mobile, Discover & Barclays) is going to test in Austin. I am really excited about mobile payments and I can see the potential. Check out Square for some interesting payments stuff.

So alot has happened since my last post. My HEAT lost the NBA finals. My friend Brian had a baby. USMNT lost first game in Gold Cup group stage ever. Two other friends got new jobs and one of them is going to live in Michigan. We had a Weinergate, IOS5 announcement, Linkedin IPO, Pandora IPO, Twitter is imbeded in IOS5, Everybody is doing mobile payments, etc.... Ok i guess that is it.

Jack went to soccer this morning and Gabi to piano. They both did really well. We are going to a baby shower later today for our friends Liz and Brian.

I will be monitoring my phone for the Marlins vs. Rays game. Mike Stanton is a beast!

Miami Heat beat the Bulls last night 85 - 75 to tie the series 1 - 1! LBJ closed out the Bulls scoring 12 points in the final minutes. Udonis Haslem made a spectatcular return to the Heat line up with 10+ points and 8+ rebounds. Coming off an injury Haslem gave the Heat a much needed lift of the bench with his energy and hustle. In the early part of the game DWade made his presence felt with 17 points at halftime.

Now on to Miami and hopefully holding home court. Go Heat!
